Have you ever noticed how people react when they have had it UP to here and they can't take it anymore? Has it happened to you? It's called "Overwhelm." So what do we do with it, we ask?
a) We change the situation
b) We change "our Perception" of the situation
c) We Leave the situation or
d) We cope with the situation

Then, we prioritize, we make a list, and slowly begin to discern the "MUST DO's" by putting number or symbols indicating the level of urgency. From there, we take ACTION towards the most important item on our list. During the devastation of Hurricane Katrina in New Orleans and neighboring Gulf cities, we saw first-hand many examples of prioritizing to manage overwhelm. Did you notice how the Heroes took care of priorities very quickly while the non-heroes just froze w/and eerie inability to act?

Helping others is NOT new to our readers nor to the writer, helping in biblical, devastating proportions IS. Who knew we had the internal fortitude to go out of our ways to help no matter what. This is where Pride and Courage kicks-in, and we all need Courage to face and manage our own overwhelm. The moral of the story is: We show courage whenever we are called upon. We show courage whenever we are needed, we show courage because we are human beings helping other human beings and we care. We show and must have courage....to manage our overwhelm by prioritizing. We must become our own "heroes".

When it comes to Courage, you must:
1) Own It
2) Honor It
3) Live by It!

When Andrew unexpectedly shows up on Ben's doorstep late one night, the two old college friends immediately fall into their old dynamic of heterosexual one-upmanship. To save Ben from domestication, Andrew invites Ben to a party at a sex-positive commune. Everyone there plans on making erotic art films for the local amateur porn festival and Andrew wants in. They run out of booze and ideas, save for one: Andrew should have sex with Ben, on camera. It's not gay; it's beyond gay. It's not porn; it's an art project. The next day, they find themselves unable to back down from the dare. And there's nothing standing in their way - except Ben's wife Anna, heterosexuality, and certain mechanical questions.

Living in Seattle, Ben and Anna are a loving young supportive couple falling into what most would see as a "white picket fence" lifestyle as Ben calls it. As part of this lifestyle, they are now trying to have a child. Late one night, Andrew, Ben's friend from his college days, drops by their house unexpectedly, Ben and Anna put him up despite the inconvenience. Andrew, an artist, has always been a free spirit, a "Kerouac" as Ben refers to that life. Andrew travels the world at a whim, his most recent sojourn being in Chiapas. Andrew is in Seattle just to reconnect with his old buddy, who he not seen since the wedding. The next day, instead of getting to know his buddy's wife and learning about the life Ben and Anna are leading, Andrew decides to hang out with a bunch of artists he has just met, and drags Ben along. In a drunken stupor at the artists' party, the two learn about a festival in which the artists are partaking called Hump Fest. It is an amateur porn festival. As Ben and Andrew get caught up in the discussion, they decide to make their own porn film for the festival, the premise of their film being that it would be an artistic rendering of two overtly straight guys having sex, the two being themselves. As identifying as being straight, neither has ever had sex with another man. In discussions between the friends, Ben thinks that he's not as "white picket fence" as Andrew believes, nor is Andrew as "Kerouac" as he believes. In the sober light of day, will Ben's inner and Andrew's outer "Kerouac" still want to do the project? And if they do, Ben will eventually have to tell Anna his plans.

The Mortal Kombat series is one of the premier arcade series around today. The series, which until now utilized digitized actors to give the game an extra layer of realism, has been the topic of comic books, movies, action figures, and even Senate hearings. The fourth time around the game has gone polygonal, giving the developers much more leeway when it comes to adding new moves, holds, and characters. Also, weapons have been added into the mix, with each character possessing a different sword, club, or staff to beat his enemies with.

The storyline of MK4 picks up the loose ends left behind by both MK3 and the console-exclusive MK Mythologies: Sub-Zero. With Shao Kahn defeated, Shinnok picks up the slack as the main bad guy. However, he is also a selectable character, which left arcade players with no big boss to look forward to. To remedy that, the home version contains MK1's four-armed bad boy, Goro. Goro looks terrific in 3D, moves very fluidly, and has all the great moves he had in MK1, as well as a few additional ones. He isn't selectable from the start, but a code makes him (as well as Noob Saibot, another hidden character) playable. Returning characters include Scorpion, Sub-Zero, Liu Kang, Johnny Cage, Sonya, and Raiden. Most of the old characters retain their old moves and add a new one here and there. The new characters fit very well into the MK universe, a welcome change from most fighting game sequels.

While the graphics may not be quite as detailed as the arcade version, they are very close, and the game runs very fast with hardware acceleration. The software-rendered graphics look pretty blocky, although a patch has been released that allows a higher resolution in software mode. The music comes off the CD, resulting in an arcade-perfect soundtrack. The character voices, while occasionally goofy sounding, are all present. The arcade version's endings used the game engine, but they have been redone for the PC version, and the results look fantastic. The game now plays the high-quality rendered FMV endings instead.

Whether or not the game plays like the arcade version all depends on which controller you use. You're going to need at least a six-button gamepad to properly play the game. The Sidewinder pad works perfectly, although some of the game's fatalities are hard to do on any controller other than the arcade's. MK4's combo system has been greatly simplified when compared with previous MKs. Each character can start a combo the same way, and some of the more damaging moves in the previous games (the uppercut, for instance) have been weakened. The introduction of weapons seems silly at first, but once you've played for a while and gotten used to using them, they really do add a new dimension to the game. Each character has two fatalities, and there are two stage fatalities. The fatalities look nice, but too many of them are merely 3D updates to old fatalities, and the new fatalities in MK4 simply aren't that great. It would have been nice to see some more innovation here. A few modes have been added to the game, including a practice mode, which shows all the characters' moves and fatalities. There are also three types of endurance fights, a team battle mode, and a tournament mode.

If you aren't a fan of the previous Mortal Kombat games, this one won't make you a fan. It's pretty much the same game but with a few 3D elements tossed in. But fans of the other versions of MK4 won't be disappointed with this excellent translation.

Plot

Left 4 Dead 2 is an upcoming cooperative first-person shooter
game.It is the sequel to Valve Corporation's award-winning
Left 4 Dead.
Like Left 4 Dead, the sequel involves the aftermath of an
apocalyptic pandemic. There has been an outbreak of a
rabies-like pathogen that causes infected humans to behave
like zombies. The four survivors have to fight their way
through the hordes of infected, using safehouses along the
way to rest and recover, in order to reach extraction
points. Left 4 Dead 2 will be set in the Southern United
States, starting in Savannah, Georgia and ending in
New Orleans, Louisiana.[3][4] The cast of Left 4 Dead has
been replaced by 4 new survivors, whose backstory will again
be provided through dialogue. Unlike the first game where
there was no significant story development, Left 4 Dead 2
will feature a story arc. All the campaigns have been
announced: "Dead Center" takes place in a shopping mall,
"Dark Carnival" where the survivors must pass through a
partially operating amusement park, "Swamp Fever" which
sees the survivors crossing vegetation-rich bayou,
"Hard Rain" which takes place during a heavy downpour in
proximity to a sugar mill, and "The Parish" which takes
place in New Orleans.
